Year 1

Term 4 has been a very busy end to the year.

The students enjoyed themselves on our excursion to the 100 Story Building, where they created stories using pictures. This assisted them in writing their narratives throughout the term.

We have also had a lot of fun in Maths. Learning about Money, Volume, Capacity and Location.

The students loved using the play money to add up different amounts and using blocks to compare the volume of different objects.

During Integrated Studies, the students learnt about Light and Sound. The students made a range of wonderful musical instruments, explaining where their instrument originated from and how sound is made. They then learnt about the weather and created weather forecasts in groups.

We also had a great day at our athletics carnival. Year 1 students were involved in the tabloid sports, moving through many different fun activities.

The swimming program has been a huge success. All students thoroughly enjoying their time during swimming lessons, practising and learning many skills.

It has been a fantastic year. The students have grown both academically and socially. We are very proud at how far they have come. We wish them all the best next year in Year 2.
